Among the sacred books of India are the hymns of the Rig-Veda, the world´s first recorded poems; the ´´magical texts´´ of the Athara-Veda; the stirring pantheistic speculations of the Upanishads; and the Bhagavad-Gita, a cosmic drama of divine self-revelation in human history on the field of human battle. Taken together they represent 3,500 years of a continuous religious tradition that is multifarious, inclusive, and, at the same time, wedded to a central spiritual vision. This edition features the translations and annotations of R. C. Zaehner, a pioneering scholar whose selections in this volume, first published by Everyman´s Library in 1966, have never been bettered as an introduction for the general reader to the Vedic tradition. Zaehner has chosen the most interesting and important verses, rendered in English that is accessible and vivid, and his introduction provides an excellent guide to the historical context, the philosophical significance, and the literary power of these beautiful and ancient texts. A clear-cut guide to the auric field and how to develop it. The most agreed upon origins of the word ´´aura´´ can be traced back to Greek and Latin roots with the meanings ´´breeze´´, ´´breath´´, ´´wind´´, or ´´air´´. In the mid-19th century, the term started to take on a different connotation in Europe, and was used to describe the ´´characteristic impression´´ made by a person. A few years later, spiritualists adopted it to convey the subtle field of energy that radiates off beings. Hindu scholars insist that ´´aura´´ actually comes from Sanskrit, and refers to the spokes in a wheel. The imagery of a spoke originating from a hub is a parallel to how the aura radiates from the physical body. For the average person, the aura extends approximately three to five feet from the borders of the physical body. It is densest at the section closest to the flesh, and gradually becomes more transparent and indistinct the farther away it goes. It can be described as a cloud or flame that gradually fades out of the field of vision. During the course of the book we will explore: The nature of the human aura and its attributes How the auric field plays a part in your spiritual evolution The different layers and colors of the aura and their meanings How to start sensing auras How you can learn to see them Cleansing your field of negative energy Strengthening and maintaining good auric health And more! (1994 ´Delmark´) (66:14/11) Nach 60 Jahren sein Album-Debut - verrückt. Hat mit dem Chicagoblues-Klischee nichts am Hut. T-Bone Walker, mit einem Schuß seines alten Weggefährten Nat King Cole. Die Blues Swingers sind eine 9-köpfige traditionelle R&B-Bigband. Ein wunderschönes Album / beautiful debut. He played with jazz greats like Ben Webster, knew Nat King Cole very well, and his guitar teacher was the great T-Bone Walker! And that was his style. Great 1940s Blues and R&B performed by his great 9-piece band. A highly recommended album. Guitarist/ vocalist Floyd McDaniel has been playing for over half a century in an urban hipster´s world of jump and jive, of rug cutters, geets and flivvers, all cited in the lyrics of his recordings. Its resources are T-Bone Walker - influenced blues, jazz of every variety with a Charlie Christian shadow, hokum, stage evues, wasboard bands, a long run with the Ink Spots and success in the 1940s and 1950 with the Blazes on United Records. Recently he´s been involved with the Blues Swingers, a hard - swinging R&B band led by tenor saxist/arranger Dave Clark with four horns up front and a rhythm section kicked by veteran drummers Kansas Fields (records with Bechet, Mezzrow, BG, Condon, Byas, Bird, etc.) or Hindu Hendersen, a startling if belated discovery. Floyds played the Michigan Ave. bridge, mob joints, the Cotton Club, the ´33 World´s Fair, the Apollo and now - your CD player.

The word kundalini refers to an energy that everyone has within them, but that usually lies dormant. What this means is that the majority of people don´t feel this energy and, much of the time, don´t even know it exists. However, in a few rare cases, this energy can come to life, getting activated and aroused. Depending on the person and their knowledge, readiness, and viewpoint, this can be a joyous occasion or something that disturbs and frightens them a bit. People who intentionally awaken their kunalini will have a positive reaction to this phenomenon. The word kundalini is a Sanskrit word which translates to the word ´´coiled´´, similar to the posture a snake adopts when it lies on the ground. This energy has not been recognized or acknowledged by science in the medical field and even among meditative experts and longtime teachers. The definition is rarely ever fully understood. However, this phenomenon is thoroughly discussed and mentioned in important texts about tantra and yoga, including both Hindu and Buddhist sources. Since this word has been used so widely, a lot of people think of it as the material of legends or simply a useful metaphor for personal growth or transformation. Some have even defined it as a person´s creative potential. While this may be the case for some, who can look to symbolism to gain meaning in kundalini, it´s a very real and quite literal experience for others. 1. Language: English. Katrell Christie was a 30-something artist turned roller-derby rebel who opened a tea shop in Atlanta. Barely two years later, her life would make a drastic change - and so would the lives of a group of girls half a world away. I chose the name of my tea shop - Dr. Bombay´s Underwater Tea Party - because it sounded whimsical. India wasn´t part of the equation. Not even remotely. I didn´t do yoga. I had no deep yearning to see the Taj Mahal or tour Hindu temples. Indian food? I could take it or leave it. Yet on a whim, Katrell did go. She witnessed the throngs at the Ganges River, toured the tea fields of Darjeeling, and helped string pearls in conservative Hyderabad. But it was in a crowded Buddhist orphanage where she crossed paths with some girls who would change the course of her life. One night we had a conversation about their futures. What did they hope to be when they grew up? They didn´t have any answers. The fear that consumed them was leaving the orphanage. What would happen on the day they were asked to gather their things and leave - to walk out the door and be all alone on the street with no one to turn to and nowhere to go? With her mind racing about their grim futures, Katrell reached the simple conclusion that she couldn´t walk away. So instead she walked forward - on a mission to help them in any small way. Once back at her shop, an idea for The Learning Tea was born. By selling tea, cupcakes, scones, and other treats, Katrell raised enough funds to provide life necessities for the girls - safe housing, uniforms, medical care, tutoring, and ultimately, a college education for each of them. To date, The Learning Tea has helped 11 young girls who once faced the bleakest of futures. Tiger Heart recounts Katrell´s riveting adventures back to India, through the chaotic streets of Mumbai, to tiny villages with roadside tea huts and hot samosas, to elephant crossings and snowcapped mountain switchbacks of the Hi 1.
